Promote recycling and recyclability, thereby conserving natural resources, protecting the environment and facilitating free trade; study and undertake research work on technical, scientific and environmental problems relative to the various sectors of recycling; act as the unified voice of international recycling industries associated on a worldwide level; develop public awareness of the economic and environmental contributions of membership; promote free trade in, and increased usage of, recyclable and recycled materials and encourage manufacturers to design products with increased understanding of recycling; act as a forum for members to exchange commercial, technical, economic, legal and environmental information.
