Promote joint efforts at national and international level to improve and safeguard water quality of the Danube, its tributaries and related groundwater sources, to conserve the purity of surface water and groundwater resources and to avoid/eliminate dangers to water supply such as arise from pollution and other types of impairment; encourage all measures and efforts aimed at avoiding and eliminating all contamination of, and hazards to, raw water quality in order to ensure reliable drinking water supply; represent interests of member water supply companies and promote and facilitate exchange of experience among them; develop a uniform, internationally agreed, water monitoring programme.
