1971, as Joint Committee for Safety of Structures, by E-XE1671 - Liaison Committee of International Associations of Civil Engineering, which groups: H-XD0628 - Euro-International Committee for Concrete; F-XD0699 - European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (ECCS); H-XC1986 - Fédération internationale de la précontrainte (FIP); B-XB1177 - International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE); B-XB1723 - International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB); B-XB2784 - Réunion internationale des laboratoires d'essais et de recherches sur les matériaux et les constructions (RILEM).
Aims
Improve general knowledge and understanding within the fields of safety, risk, reliability and quality assurance for all types of civil engineering and building structures, on the basis of sound scientific principles and with an open eye for the applications in practice; take care that inter-associational pre-normative research in the field of risk and reliability is performed in an effective and adequate way; strive for coordination between the inter-associational pre-normative research and normalization activities in ISO, Eurocode etc; provide appropriate support and technical coordination for the work of member associations.
