Founded, at a meeting convened for that purpose by F-XF1069 - Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Updated By-laws approved by 2nd Special Meeting of the General Assembly, 17 May 1978, Buenos Aires (Argentina). Amendments approved at: 3rd Extraordinary General Assembly, 23 Oct 1979, Lima (Peru); 5th Extraordinary General Assembly, 26 May 1998, Lima. Recognized by the Peruvian Government and other Latin American countries (unspecified).

Aims

Highlight and strengthen the role that development finance institutions play in the more equitable growth of member countries; stimulate information exchange concerning products, services and better practices; contribute to the training and technical assistance of associates; promote collaboration to foster business and financial cooperation; encourage contribution to the social and economic development of the region; support financial viability and act as a spokesperson for development banking in Latin America and the Caribbean.
