History
1953, Gothenburg (Sweden), on the initiative of 4 Nordic chief medical officers; first course held 1953; reorganized and established as permanent school, 26 Jun 1962; new statutes adopted 9 Nov 1976. Work extended, 1978, when came under the remit of D-XD4238 - Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM). Started MPH program, 1978. Expanded, moved to new premises, and revised training programme to separate professional and research training, 1987. Ceased to exist 31 Dec 2014.
Aims
Offer advanced and specialized post-graduate public health science training and research for physicians, veterinarians, nurses, social workers, dentists, administrators, engineers, health inspectors and others professionally active in Nordic countries' health care promotion and prevention and social services.
