Founded following preliminary meetings organized by Continuing Committee of the Conferences on Research on International Peace and Security -- Comité permanent des conférences pour la recherche de la paix et de la sécurité internationales.
Developed from a group of scholars interested in holding research conferences on the topic of international peace and security.
Aims
Increase quantity of research focused on world peace and ensure scientific quality and advance interdisciplinary research into the conditions for sustainable peace and the causes of war and other forms of violence and conflict; promote national and international studies and teaching related to the pursuit of peace; facilitate contacts among scholars and educators worldwide; encourage exchange of information on results of research in the field and on significant developments in peace research.
