History
22 Jan 1993, Minsk (Belarus), as Radionavigation Intergovernmental Council of the CIS, by Resolution of the Heads of Governments of member states of the F-XF2417 - Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Regulations validated by Resolution of the Heads of Governments of CIS, Apr 1994.
Aims
Promote development and cooperated application of radionavigation systems and aids to fulfil target missions by various users; provide information support for safety systems for all transport modes.

Council (meets twice a year), comprising plenipotentiaries of CIS states (one from each state); Council Chairman elected in turn from Council members for one year, with possible prolongation. Council's activities are supported by the Internavigation Research and Technical Centre (RTC), a state establishment of Russia; RTC Director is the standing Deputy Chairman of the Council with deliberative vote.
