Act as a peoples' movement for the United Nations; coordinate and further activities of members and promote establishment of new United Nations Associations; cooperate with other organizations which support the United Nations and its development; promote tolerance, understanding, solidarity and cooperation among men, women and children throughout the world without distinction as to race, sex, language, religion or political orientation; contribute to removal of obstacles to peace, work for justice, security and disarmament and promote development of peaceful co-existence and cooperation among nations; strive for recognition of and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms throughout the world and for recognition of the responsibilities and duties which these rights involve for individuals, groups and states; promote economic development, enhancement of social progress and better living standards; promote research, information and education about the goals of the United Nations Charter and the work of the United Nations system.
