History
Feb 1974, Lahore (Pakistan), as a subsidiary organ of C-XC4129 - Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in accordance with Resolution No 6/2 (I S) issued by the Second F-XF4974 - Islamic Summit of Kings and Heads of States and Governments. Commenced operations in 1975.
Aims
Take all possible steps to raise the intellectual and moral levels of Muslims; provide assistance to alleviate the adverse after effects of crises, calamities and natural catastrophes that may occur or hit the Islamic States and Muslim communities in non-member countries; extend assistance in support of the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and resistance to the judaization of Al-Quds Ashareef; grant assistance to Muslim minorities and communities so as to improve their religious, social and cultural standards; contribute to the establishment of mosques, hospitals, Islamic schools, universities, scientific research institutes, centres and societies; finance Islamic Da'wa programmes and Muslim youth welfare.
