Founded when Statutes were adopted. Statutes modified by the General Assemblies of: 10 May 1977; 17 Jun 1980; 22 Jun 1984; 15 Jun 1990; 7 May 2000; 19 Jun 2002; 15 Jun 2005; 11 Jun 2008.

Aims

Provide a professional foundation for building strong, modernized and effective labour inspection worldwide, principally through: development and implementation of a Global Code of Integrity for labour inspection; promotion and establishment of international labour inspectorate alliances and regional cooperation; demonstration and evaluation of the effectiveness of labour inspection and intervention techniques; provision of information and technical expertise in labour inspection; exchange of good practice and experience in the field.
