Give new impetus and approach to the promotion of cooperation in the Americas to achieve integral development and help eliminate extreme poverty in the Hemisphere; serve as a high level intergovernmental political forum to promote inter-American dialogue on subjects relevant to the Inter-American agenda regarding integral and sustainable development; operate as a catalyst to promote new types of cooperation among OAS member state institutions and between them and other institutions of the inter-American system, by giving preference to multilateral projects; meet new goals identified by the OAS in the field of development cooperation; foster partnerships with institutions and actors interested in associating with the OAS for cooperation in the Hemisphere.
