History
Memorandum of Understanding signed 17 Mar 2014, between E-XM6102 - Small Island Developing States - Island Energy for Island Life (SIDS DOCK), B-XE3386 - UNIDO and Government of Austria, to assist Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in creation of a network. Technical and institutional design validated, Jul 2014, Roseau (Dominica). Establishment endorsed by D-XD4579 - Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Jul 2015, Bridgetown (Barbados). Officially inaugurated 28 Oct 2015, Bridgetown (Barbados). Legal Agreement adopted 6 Jul 2017, Grenada, at Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM. A CARICOM Institution.
Aims
Improve access to modern, affordable and reliable energy services, energy security and mitigation of negative externalities of the energy system by promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency investments, markets and industries in the Caribbean.
