History
Founded within framework of U-XF6140 - Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, by bilateral agreement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Federal Republic of Germany, originally signed in Zagreb (Croatia), 8 Mar 2001, dealt exclusively with arms control. In 2007, RACVIAC started the process of transformation into the Centre for Security Cooperation in order to build on its success and deal with security issues in a broader sense. The Agreement was signed 14 Apr 2010, Budva (Montenegro), by 9 countries of F-XF6480 - South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP). New Agreement entered into force 1 Dec 2011, when current title was adopted, and when centre became an independent, regionally owned organization with the status of a diplomatic mission in accordance with T-XT6106 - Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
Aims
Promote security cooperation and dialogue in the region thus ensuring sustainable development of SEE countries and supporting them on their path towards European and Euro-Atlantic integrations primarily by promoting mutual trust and building bridges.
