Structure

Structures first on the 'local level' (the responsibility of the local Diocese). The chaplain and/or pastoral worker is automatically a member, along with volunteers, seafarers and fishers, their family members and port personnel (this local structure usually has a 'board'or 'council' to direct its affairs). These local initiatives are coordinated on the 'national level' by a National Director, and often by a national council, comprised of selected or elected members from the local agencies. The 'regional level' (continental and sub-continental) is coordinated and communication is promoted through a Regional Coordinator, who also serves as a member of the International Council of Apostolatus Maris. On 'world level': General Secretariat, located at U-XF7319 - Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People.
