History

Established with the assistance of E-XE3382 - UNDP, on signature of an agreement which entered into force 26 Jan 1970. An Associate Institution of D-XD4579 - Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Aims

Contribute to harmonious economic growth and development of member countries in the Caribbean; promote economic cooperation and integration among members, with special and urgent regard to the needs of the less-developed countries of the region.

Board of Governors (meets annually), comprises one Governor and one Alternate Governor nominated by each member country (for this purpose Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Montserrat and Turks and Caicos Islands are together regarded as one member). Board of Directors, consisting of 17 Directors, 12 representing regional members and 5 representing non-regional members. President (who is Chairman of the Board of Directors); Vice-President (Operations); Vice-President (Corporate Services) and Bank Secretary. Directors of Departments (6): Economics; Projects; Finance; Legal; Human Resources; Information Technology. Headquarters in St Michael (Barbados).
