History
Founded under the auspices of the D-XD0435 - Council of Europe (CE), at constituent Assembly, when statutes were adopted.
New statutes adopted, 7 Jul 1994, Göttingen (Germany).
The former Association was dissolved at the Annual General Assembly, Jul 2009.
Statutes and Rules and Regulations adopted 1 Jan 2009.
Aims
Represent the interests of research libraries of Europe, their universities and researchers. Promote in particular: efficient information services; access to research information, in any form whatsoever; innovation in end-user services provided by research libraries in support of teaching, learning and research; preservation of cultural heritage; efficient and effective management in research libraries.
