24 Oct 1998, Casablanca (Morocco), as one of the Regional Centres for Space Science and Technology Education Affiliated to the United Nations within the framework of E-XE0535 - Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), as part of Programme on Space Applications (PSA) within E-XJ7585 - United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), and in the light of recommendations of H-XF2785 - Global Action Plan for Environment and Development in the 21st Century (Agenda 21). Also referred to in English as Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Africa, Morocco /Affiliated to the United Nations/.
Aims
Develop expertise in the field of space science and technology in the region; assist countries in the region to develop endogenous capacities in science and technology space; consolidate national and regional capacities; promote cooperation between countries.
