1985, Nairobi (Kenya), at World Conference on Women, to monitor implementation of T-XT7996 - Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). Ceased to exist 30 Jun 2019.
Aims
Serve as a resource and communications centre focusing on implementation of women's human rights; promote country reporting under the CEDAW and other international human rights treaties; provide tools for NGO monitoring and reporting of women's human rights implementation; provide expertise to support integration of gender into the work of all the international human rights treaty monitoring bodies.
