History

Founded after ratification of statutes which had been drawn up by provisional committee appointed in 1953, by 12th General Assembly of B-XB2698 - International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS). First steps had been taken at International Entomological Congress, 1948, Stockholm (Sweden). Restructured, and present statutes adopted, 30-31 Mar 1971, Rome (Italy). Scientific Member of IUBS, acting as its Section of Biological Control.

Aims

Promote development of biological control and its application in integrated control programmes, and international cooperation to these ends.
