May 1973, Singapore (Singapore), as Asia-FIET, at the Founding Conference. Regional union of B-XB0009 - UNI Global Union. Name changes, at 5th Ordinary Conference, Oct 1986, Bangkok (Thailand), from Asia-FIET to Asian and Pacific Regional Organization of the International Federation of Commercial, Clerical, Professional and Technical Employees (APRO-FIET) - Organisation régionale pour l'Asie et le Pacifique de la Fédération internationale des employés, techniciens et cadres (ORAP-FIET) to reflect the geographical representation of FIET in the region. Changed name to Union Network International Asia and Pacific Regional Office (UNI-Asia and Pacific) 1 Jan 2000. Also referred to as UNI-Apro.
Aims
Secure new members for UNI and coordinate the activities of UNI affiliates in the region directed at dealing with the problems of commercial, clerical, professional and technical employees.

Regional Conference (every 4 years). Regional Executive Committee (meets annually), consisting of President, Vice President, Regional Secretary and 6 members elected from among the affiliates in 4 areas, namely: East Asia, South East Asia, South Asia and the Pacific; Coordinator for APRO UNI Women Activities is a member of the Regional Executive Committee; UNI General Secretary is ex-officio member of the Regional Executive Committee. Regional Secretary is the chief executive of APRO UNI. Secretariat Office situated in Singapore (Singapore).
