Aims

Facilitate research, promote research-based publishing and create multiple fora for exchange of views and information among African researchers; challenge existing orthodox development theories by activating concerned African social scientists and research institutes to undertake fundamental and problem-oriented research in the field of development from a perspective relevant to the needs of the African people, thus counteracting stagnation and underdevelopment; break down linguistic and geographical barriers between African social scientists, define priorities and organize collaborative research teams.
