History

Established on signature of Agreement during K-XF4192 - Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), following recommendations of the 2nd Foreign Ministers Conference, Dec 1970, Karachi (Pakistan) and declaration of intent, Dec 1973, Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). A specialized organ of C-XC4129 - Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Became fully operational within OIC framework, 20 Oct 1975.

A multilateral aid institution of C-XC3038 - Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
