History

Founded by Nigel Cantwell and Canon Moerman, Chair of the 'International Year of the Child' (1979). Statutes adopted by International General Assembly, 5 Apr 1986, Xalapa (Mexico); amended 2014.

Aims

Work towards a world where children enjoy and exercise their rights in a just and responsible society; ensure on-going practical, systematic and concerted international action directed towards promoting and protecting the rights of the child, as articulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, its optional protocols and other human rights instruments.
