Founded within the framework of F-XF0947 - Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), previously CSCE. Original title: Parliamentary Assembly of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe -- Assemblée parlementaire de la Conférence sur la sécurité et la coopération en Europe. Also referred to as OSCE Parliamentary Assembly -- Assemblée parlementaire de la OSCE; Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE.
Aims
Facilitate inter-parliamentary dialogue on OSCE related matters; support the strengthening and consolidation of democratic institutions in OSCE participating States; develop and promote mechanisms for conflict prevention and resolution; contribute to development of the institutional structures of the OSCE and of relations and cooperation among existing OSCE Institutions.

Activities

Annual Session (in July) and Winter Meeting (in February, always in Vienna, Austria) are the two main meetings. Standing Committee, comprising the Heads of the 57 National Delegations as well as Members of the Bureau. Bureau consisting of President, 9 Vice-Presidents, Officers of the 3 General Committees, and President Emeritus and Treasurer (both ex officio). General Committees (3): Political Affairs and Security; Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment; Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions. International Secretariat in Copenhagen (Denmark), headed by Secretary-General.
