8 Jul 1987, Amman (Jordan), under the umbrella of E-XE5993 - OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) and at the instigation of H-XF8780 - Islamic Foundation for Science, Technology and Development (IFSTAD), then a subsidiary organ of the C-XC4129 - Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Originally planned as Islamic Institute of Water Resources Management. Also referred to as Islamic Network of Water Resources Development and Management.
Aims
Promote scientific and technological cooperation and facilitate transfer of know-how; ensure proper planning of water resources development, effective management, sufficient utilization and conservation of water resources as required for future economic growth.
