As an international body concerned with public supply of water through pipes for domestic, agricultural and industrial purposes: secure concerted action in improving technical, legal and administrative knowledge; secure a maximum exchange of information and education experience on research, water management, water treatment, methods of water supply, statistics and other matters of common interest; encourage better understanding among those engaged in public supply of water.
