History
Founded on ratification of statutes which had been first drafted Oct 1960, Tunis (Tunisia). Statutes revised in 1998. Re-launched under listed title, 6 Sep 2007, Nairobi (Kenya) at 1st General Assembly of the transformed organization.
Aims
Support in every field the interests of African broadcasting and television organizations which adhere to the Statutes; ensure exchange of information on all matters of general interest to such organizations; promote and coordinate consideration of questions relating to broadcasting and television; promote measures designed to assist the development of African radio and television; ensure provision of programmes to enrich the quality of life of viewers and project the true image of Africa.
