Established and chartered in Rome (Italy), 25 Sep 1968. Transferred to London (UK), Sep 1971.
Aims
Further international cooperation in the field of communication; promote and disseminate research and policy studies concerned with the impact of broadcast media and telecommunications on society and systematic analysis of economic, cultural, social, legal and political implications of contemporary communications technology; define and seek programme quality and professional competence; eliminate barriers to free flow of communication and its wider use for informational, cultural and educational purposes.
