History
Circa 1120, Jerusalem (Israel), reputedly by St Basil, as an order of knights and nurses; established houses in a number of European countries in the 13th century, but fell into decay in the 14th and 15th centuries. United with R-XR0113 - Order of St John in 1490, although the French branch continued to operate as a separate order which was united with the Knights of Our Lady of Mount Carmel -- Ordre de chevalerie de Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel and then suppressed during the French Revolution; revived in Italy in 1814 and in France in 1830. Known also as Hospitaliers of St Lazarus of Jerusalem and as Order of St Lazarus.
