History
Founded at a Congress of orthodox Jewry. Before World War II this organization was officially represented in the Polish, Romanian and Lithuanian Parliaments. Now represented in the Israeli Parliament.
Aims
In the spirit of traditional Judaism, solve problems which periodically confront the Jewish people as a whole by coordinating Orthodox Jewish effort worldwide, especially among Jews of Eastern and Western Europe; work in and for Israel, amelioration of economic position of Jews in lands of need, creation of a Jewish press and literature inspired by Jewish tradition, systematic furthering of religious education and representation and protection of the interests of Torah-true Jewish communities and of the Jewish people.
