History

30 Nov 2004, The Hague (Netherlands), by F-XF4533 - Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). Originally called Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures. Subsequently named after former Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh (1957-2003). Alexandria headquarters inaugurated Apr 2005.

Aims

Promote dialogue between cultures through cooperation between civil society partners in education, culture, science and communication; strengthen intellectual cooperation and capacity-building in fields such as human rights, democratic citizenship, sustainable development, learning, knowledge and information society, gender and youth; contribute to shaping the Euro-Mediterranean space as an area of cooperation, exchange, mobility, mutual understanding and peace.
