Provide a regional forum for addressing common issues and concerns related to the collection and preservation of, and provision of access to, the audiovisual heritage of member countries; promote development of audiovisual archiving at the national, regional and international levels; strengthen national capabilities in audiovisual acquisition, management, preservation and provision of access to collections through research, training and technology transfer, among other methods; establish regionwide standards, methods and procedures; advance the professional development and recognition of audiovisual archivists; cooperate with relevant international bodies toward achieving international recognition and support of AV archiving in the region.
