History
1929, London (UK), as International Conference on the Properties of Steam. Name changed, 1971, New York NY (USA), to International Association for the Properties of Steam (IAPS) -- Association internationale pour les propriétés de la vapeur. Present name adopted in 1989.
Aims
Provide internationally accepted formulations for properties of light and heavy steam, water and selected aqueous solutions for scientific and industrial applications; define research needs; promote and coordinate research on steam, water and selected aqueous systems important in thermal power cycles, collect and evaluate resulting data, communicate and promulgate findings; provide an international forum for exchange of experience, ideas and results of research.
