The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Ceased to exist 2018, on merger with H-XA2466 - International Social Science Council (ISSC) to become A-XM6956 - International Science Council (ISC).
Aims
Act as a focal point for exchange of ideas, communication of scientific information and development of scientific standards and networks. Address such matters of concern to scientists as: education and capacity building for science; access to scientific data and information; science in developing countries; freedom in the conduct of science.
