History
1977, Sweden, as World Association of Veteran Athletes (WAVA). Subsequently merged with sister organization, H-XD3930 - Welt Interessen Gemeinschaft Alterer Langstvecken Läufer (IGAL), retaining the original title. Current title adopted 1997. Registered in the Principality of Monaco.
Aims
Develop, regulate, promote and manage all aspects of the sport of athletics for master athletes at world level.
