History
Founded by F-XE4356 - Programme on Man and the Biosphere (MAB) of B-XB3383 - UNESCO. Seville Strategy for Biosphere Reserves and Statutory Framework for the World Network of Biosphere Reserves endorsed and adopted by 28th Session of UNESCO General Conference, Nov 1995.
Aims
As areas of terrestrial and coastal ecosystems: promote solutions to reconcile conservation of biodiversity with its sustainable use; promote a dynamic multi-functional approach to conserving biological and cultural diversity where local people are key actors and beneficiaries.
