History

Founded by the federation of H-XH4546 - International Union of the History of Sciences, set up in 1947, and H-XH3763 - Union internationale de logique, méthodologie et philosophie des sciences (UIPS), formed 12 Jun 1949. The federating bodies became Divisions of the Union.

Aims

Coordinate and promote research on the history and philosophy of science, contributing to the unity of science in general and establishing links between different branches of knowledge.
