Germany, officially the Federal Republic of Germany, is a country in Central Europe. It lies between the Baltic and North Sea to the north and the Alps to the south. Its sixteen constituent states have a total population of over 82 million in an area of 357,596 km2 (138,069 sq mi), making it the most populous member state of the European Union. It borders Denmark to the north, Poland and the Czech Republic to the east, Austria and Switzerland to the south, and France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands to the west. The nation's capital and most populous city is Berlin and its main financial centre is Frankfurt; the largest urban area is the Ruhr.

The International Congress Center München – ICM - is the most modern conference facility in Europe. With 19 halls – totaling an overall capacity of 6,500 seats the ICM presents an optimal space for large events. The ICM is integrated into the Neue Messe München (New Munich Trade Fair Center) as is the MOC Veranstaltungscenter München that is located in Munich-Freimann. The MOC offers a large exhibition space, conference and seminar rooms and more than 60 units that can be customized to the specific requirements of an event.

The Hamburg Convention Bureau (HCB) is Hamburg’s official, non-partisan agency for marketing Hamburg as a destination. Its Conventions unit comprises experienced experts who will navigate you through all planning stages. HCB is well acquainted with the local industry, and will support you in achieving your objectives as swiftly as possible.

Conference bidding
Provides advice from the early stages of the bidding process, which enables HCB to help you compile a bid book and jointly identify services and facilities suited to meeting the requirements specified by the organiser.
Accommodation capacity
For events with a large number of participants, HCB can assist you in securing hotel accommodation. They take care of contacting partner hotels and enquiring about room capacity during the desired event period.
Location scouting
Thanks to HCB's extensive network they can assist you in finding suitable conference facilities and locations and in providing you with a choice of options for your event. As an independent point of contact they can swiftly refer you to relevant contact persons.
Networks
HCB organises inspection tours upon request and establishes contact with public authorities, cluster initiatives, businesses and science institutions.
Site inspections
HCB can arrange for a site inspection tour prior to your event so as to give you an overall view of the premises and the local conditions of the relevant venue.
Funding
During low demand periods, HCB can support you by providing congress funding.
Marketing
HCB makes their marketing and communication channels available to you so you can promote your event and publish information relating to your event.
