UIA Associate Membership is an option for public and private corporations to become involved in and support the work of the UIA and to benefit from its offers and services on a regular basis. In response to differing needs, the UIA has defined several categories of Associate Membership to choose from.

For industry entities, public bodies and all organizations not listed in the Yearbook of International Organizations, the UIA offers the three categories of Premium, Standard and Starter Associate Membership. Currently, UIA Associate Members include libraries, national, regional and local offices of tourism and convention bureaus, congress centers, hotels, airline companies, congress organizers and travel agencies, media companies, industry representatives, and consultants. For a comprehensive list see here.

Premium Associate Membership is the most comprehensive way to participate in and profit from the UIA’s work. It provides full access to the UIA’s networking platform and a wealth of other benefits, including access to the UIA’s Yearbook of International Organizations Online.

Standard Associate Membership includes access to the events database International Congress Calendar Online.

Starter Associate Membership is a bargain offer to emerging and/or smaller entities in the meetings industry. It is limited to three years. Hereafter, Starter Associate Membership will be upgraded to Standard or Premium Associate Membership. To qualify for a Starter Associate Membership,

  • the entity has existed for less than three years at the time of application;
  • the entity has a limited capacity or size (hotels with fewer than 200 beds; congress centers with maximum capacity under 200 places; other entities with no more than three FTE employees).

For a detailed description of the benefits offered by a Premium, Standard or Starter Associate Membership see here.

To apply for Premium, Standard or Starter Associate Membership, please complete the online application form. Admission is subject to the approval of the UIA Secretariat, and to the payment of the annual membership fee (required only after application has been approved).
