The III World Forum on Human Rights (FMDH23, for its acronym in Spanish) will take place in Buenos Aires (CABA), Argentina, from March 20 to 24, 2023, with the participation of international and national experts and leaders, organizations and activists.

The event will be inaugurated on March 20 at 6:00 p.m. by President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández; the president of Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo, Estela de Carlotto; the Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Pérez Esquivel; the Secretary of Human Rights, Horacio Pietragalla Corti; and the director of the International Center for the Promotion of Human Rights (CIPDH-UNESCO), Fernanda Gil Lozano.

The activities will be carried out simultaneously in 4 venues: the Human Rights and Memory Space ex ESMA (Av. del Libertador 8151, CABA); the Kirchner Cultural Center, CCK (Sarmiento 151, CABA); the School of Architecture, Urbanism and Design -FADU- (Intendente Güiraldes 2160, Ciudad Universitaria, CABA), and the National Atomic Energy Commission (Av. del Libertador 8250, CABA).

150 international speakers will participate in the debates, including former presidents such as José Mujica, Evo Morales, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, Ernesto Samper and Rafael Correa. Also, referents such as the former Spanish judge Baltasar Garzón; Rita Segato; Shui-Meng; Fabian Salvioli; Luis Moreno Ocampo; Morris Tidball-Binz; Haydee Oberreuter; Karine Ruel.

There will be 1,000 panels, workshops, book presentations and cultural activities, and will be performed the musical Festival "40 years for Democracy and Human Rights". The Forum will culminate with the march, on Friday, March 24, in commemoration of the Day of Memory for Truth and Justice.

The Forum is organized by the CIPDH-UNESCO and the national Argentine government. Ninety government and civil society institutions are part of the Organizing Commission, and 950 organizations participate in 24 Thematic Commissions to carry out their activities.

The main advances and challenges in terms of discrimination, environmentalism, gender, access to justice, human trafficking and many more topics will be addressed in the debates.
