The contents to be addressed in this Eighth Workshop are structured in conferences and round tables aimed at identifying the emerging threats of microplastics with their potential effect on health, environment and climate change, promoting applied research, circular economy and favoring the development of sustainable chemistry as a strategy to mitigate. This workshop and the secondary scientific exchange will generate tools for correct decision-making and risk communication, both nationally and internationally. This Eighth Workshop is designed in a virtual format and includes lectures, round tables, conclusions and recommendations. Stimulating the incorporation of sustainable chemistry issues in the search for solutions and the importance of introducing these concepts in a cross-cutting manner in the training of future professionals, to respond to the challenges of WHO in environmental health and SAICM for 2030.
