1926 Belgium
History
Founded following WWI by former officers and reserve officers. Similar circles were set up following WWII in France (1958) and Germany (1959). Both signed a convention establishing Inter-Nations Liaison Commission Mars & Mercury in 1960. Became a Europe-wide organization, 1991, with member nations Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland.
Aims
Develop close cooperation bounds among members of national Mars & Mercury Circles encompassing officers, former officers or reserve officers active in commerce and industry; contribute to development of members' professional work at the international level, on a non-political and non-confessional basis.
