WHAT IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?
Domestic violence can be described as the power misused by one adult in a relationship to control another. It is the establishment of control and fear in a relationship through violence and other forms of abuse. This violence can take the form of physical assault, psychological abuse, social abuse, financial abuse, or sexual assault. The frequency of the violence can be on and off, occasional or chronic.

ADDRESSING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN:
Domestic violence is the most common form of violence against women. It affects women across the life span from sex selective abortion of female fetuses to forced suicide and abuse, and is evident, to some degree, in every society in the world.

OUR AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
(1) To reduce domestic violence through providing specialist services, training, education, seminars and workshops to tackle Domestic Violence and abuse amongst Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and to emphasise on the impact it has on Children.

(2) To educate, impart knowledge and raise awareness by conducting regular workshops on the fundamental effects and consequences of Domestic Violence.

(3) To provide a user friendly service, raise awareness on the negative impact of Domestic Violence and the consequences of nurturing domestic abusive and violent relationships.

(4) To implement early interventions, ensure safeguarding through conducting risk assessments to prevent risk of Mental Disorders such as Depression, Self-Harm behaviours, Anxiety and others.

(5) To provide confidential one-to-one sessions, face-to-face victim-centred rapid response support, outreach, floating services to vulnerable and potential victims of Domestic Violence (DV) who face or flee from agony, pain, harm, sorrow and despair into a safe shelters.

(6) To refer the victims to relevant agencies for safeguarding, support and provide the navigation services and person-centred rehabilitation process of the perpetrators.

(7) To deliver Domestic Violence and Abuse Advocacy and Counselling sessions to vulnerable victims and survivors.

(8) To ensure the restoration of honour, dignity and rights lost during victimisation.

(9) To impart relevant vital knowledge on how to cope and survive with the aftermath of Domestic Violence.

(10) To collaboratively work with victims who have had their children removed and facilitate the process of reintegration into formal society.

It is not necessary that one must belong to an organization before he or she is eligible to attend this conference.

Interested delegate(s) can participate as an individual or maximum of (6) persons as a group or organization to represent their Country in the forth-coming events. Delegates should be above 18 eighteen years of age and must participate in both venues, USA / Senegal.

REGISTRATION OF PARTICIPANTS: Only a minimum of One (1) as an individual or a maximum of SIX (6) persons are expected to participate together as a group or organization to represent in the forth-coming events.

None of them should be less than eighteen years of age, as from eighteen to older age are allowed to participate and all registered participants must participate in both events, as the visa authorization letter of you or your group will be faxed to the consular section of the U.S embassy in your country, to enable them issue out the U.S NON-IMMIGRANT-VISA to all members of you or your group upon the receipt of the fax documents.

For delegates to participate in this events, you may forward the names and passport numbers of you or your group members to us as soon as possible, as all participants visa assistance request will be forwarded to the U.S Department of State for same day visa Authorization which shall be sent by fax to the consular section of the U.S. Embassy, in your country of residence.

All registered participants are entitled to a free round trip air tickets, meals and accommodation during their stay in the U.S. Only.

ACCOMMODATION: All registered participants are entitled to meals and accommodation which will be provided during their participation in the U.S.A only due to the inability of our donor sponsoring committee to mobilize enough funds to sponsor the numbers of expected delegates to attend the conference.

Delegates are only responsible for the payment of their Hotel Accommodation at "ROSANA OSANKARA HOTEL" in Senegal for the second phase of the event.

Delegates reservation with the hotel is for 6 nights which is from 25TH - 30TH SEPTEMBER 2020.

You are advice to contact the hotel management to have information for their booking method, because immediately after delegates registration is confirmed by our organization, the hotel booking confirmation receipt from the hotel management in Senegal will be highly needed to confirm your participation and to ensure that delegates have secured accommodation with the hotel,therefore contact this hotel below for the booking of your accommodation and send us your reservation receipt immediately.

VISA: Participants must be in possession of their International Passports to enable them participate. Only on receipt of your filled registration form, hotel reservation receipt and scanned information page of your international passport will participant's visa assistance request be forwarded to the U.S Department of State and the Senegalese Immigration for same day visa Authorization which shall be sent to the consular section of the U.S Embassy, in your country of residence.

TICKETS: Air Tickets for both venues will be sponsored by our organization and other benevolent donors in the United States and worldwide. The tickets will cover from participant's country of resident to the United States, from the united states to Senegal and from Senegal back to participant's country of resident.

RULES AND REGULATION:
•Delegates are subject to acceptance on a first-come-first-served basis.
