Where to meet?
The Adelaide Convention Centre, once the new East Building is completed in 2017, will boast 20,000 square metres of floor space. The Central, West and future East Building will seamlessly integrate to provide a series of 11 Halls, 25 meeting rooms and the jewel in the crown, Panorama Ballroom, which enjoys sweeping views over the River Torrens.
The flexibility of the Centre’s design allows these spaces to be opened up for larger conferences or contained according to the event’s specific requirements.The Centre also features a number of break out spaces with views over the Riverbank Precinct, which can be used for networking or hosting displays or small Expos.
Where to stay?
The Centre is located on North Terrace, which is lined with 4 and 5 star Hotels and serviced apartment hotels, and 3,500 rooms are within a 5 minute walk. The Adelaide CBD (Central Business District) is quite compact and easy to navigate which means all the main city hotels with a combined 6,000 rooms are within 15 minutes’ walk.
Hotels located in Adelaide’s CBD range from 5 star international hotels such as the Intercontinental and Hilton to small privately-owned boutique hotels like the Mayfair Hotel, and mid-range brand hotels like the Crowne Plaza and Ibis. These will soon be joined by new hotels such as the Sofitel and Holiday Inn Express in the city’s West close to the Centre.
How to get there?
Adelaide Airport attracts flights from all Australian mainland capital cities, as well as non-stop international services across the Asia Pacific and the Middle East. International carriers include Emirates, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Air New Zealand, Tigerair and Jetstar. Domestic carriers include Qantas, Virgin Australia, Tigerair and Jetstar.
The most recent airline to add Adelaide to its network is Qatar Airways, which starts flying into Adelaide from today. Qatar Airways will connect Adelaide with 35 countries in Europe, 21 in Africa and 11 in the Middle East.
Do you offer any special services for associations?
To assist associations, the Centre provides direct connections with other key bodies like the South Australian Tourism Commission, Department of State Development and Adelaide Convention Bureau to gain involvement in the conference.
In turn, this expands the reach of the event and creating a lasting legacy in the destination. This ‘Team Adelaide’ approach ensures associations have a smooth and seamless experience while planning and hosting their event in Adelaide.
